Zaproszenie na Mistrzostwa Świata Amatorów do Rumunii na 2013 rok
Dear friends,
Iasi County Chess Association, Romanian Chess Federation, the City Hall of Iasi, FIDE have the honor to invite all the FIDE Members Chess Federations and eligible players to take part in the World Amateur Chess Championship 2013 organized in Iasi, Romania, from 21th April (Arrival) to 1st of May (Departure) 2013.
The participants shall not have a FIDE title or published FIDE rating above 2000 at the start of the tournament or had such a rating for at least two years prior to the start of the event.
This is a very important sport event for our town, celebrating the fact that Iasi is awarded with the title of “European city of sport” in 2012 by the European Union. Our city has a history of over 600 years and is recognized as the cultural capital of Romania. Iasi is a city toped on 7 hills – like Rome – having 350 000 inhabitants. It is situated in the north-east of Romania (400 km of Bucharest).
It is a powerfully university, cultural, religious and industrial centre and it is located in the area of the well-known churches and monasteries in the northern Bucovina (Putna, Voronet, Agapia a.s.o.). Our Association has a wealthy tradition of promoting chess in both national and international plans. We have successfully organized, in Iasi, multiple editions of both seniors and juniors National Championships over the time, as well as numerous international tournaments, the most known being the World School Individual Chess Championship 2012 (503 players from 36 country), from 27th April to 7th of May 2012 and Youth Teams Chess European Championship, between the 14th and 22nd of July, 2011.
For a better organization of the competition, we would like your RSVP on your federation’s intention to participate. The sooner you do so, the sooner we can offer you optimal alternatives for transportation and lodging. In the same period AJ Sah Iasi, FR Sah, FIDE Training Commission organize a Seminar FIDE Training in which you can obtain FIDE Training Title or FIDE Instructor Title.
